Getting Ready for Hawaii

  っていうのはサーフィンの技の一つです。

  サーフィンにはロングボードとショートボードと有りますが、Hang Tenはロングボードの技です。テイクオフ（ボードの上に立つ）してから、ボードの上を歩きボードのノーズ（先端）に両足をそろえてライディングすることをHang Tenと言います。厳密にはボードの端を脚の指でつかむような姿勢です。両足の10本でボードをつかんでいる様から、Hang Tenと言うようになりました。

I'm getting a little nervous now. I am leaving for Hawaii in one week. I have already made my hotel and car rental reservations. I just need to get my documents together and think about what I want to take with me.  This time I will take souvenirs for my relatives. However, I have so many relatives in Hawaii, it is difficult to decide what I should get and for whom.

Besides seeing my relatives again, one thing I am looking forward to is surfing.  Actually, I have never been surfing before, so it will be my first time to "hang ten".  I used to windsurf in Miurakaigan and Florida, but I have never been surfing on waves without a sail.  I hope it isn't to difficult. I don't have a lot of time to learn, but I want to enjoy it as much as I can. I did a little research about lessons on the net, and they seem pretty expensive. Maybe I should just watch some You Tube how-to videos and give it my best shot.
