The first day after I arrived in Pensacola, I had a very important thing to do.  In Pensacola, there is no train system. There is only an unreliable bus system. However, my father lived way out in the boonies where it is impossible to get around without a car.  Charlotte and her better half Dwayne were kind enough to offer to lend me their car, but the problem was that my driver license had expired.  So, Dwayne drove me to the DMV in Pensacola. Luckily, I could easily renew my license but it would take about 2 hours.  Dwayne didn’t even know me. We had just met the day before. He waited patiently for me in his car for 2 hours without any gripes while I got my license. I was very moved by his kindness. 

ペンサコーラに到着して、最初の日に、やらなければいけない大事な事がありました。ペンサコーラには鉄道網が全くありません。あるのはあてにならないバス路線だけです。ところが私の父が住んでいるところは田舎のはずれで、車なしでは動きがとれないのですが、シャーロットと彼女の夫のドウェインが親切にも車の貸し出しを申しでてくれました。問題は私の免許証の期限が切れていたことなのですが、ドウェインがペンサコーラにある自動車管理局まで車で連れて行ってくれました。幸い簡単に免許の更新はできそうなのですが、ニ時間ほど時間がかかります。ドウェインは私とは面識がなく、前日にはじめて会ったばかりです。しかし彼は私が手続きしている間、ニ時間文句も言わずに車の中で辛抱強く待っていてくれたのです。彼の親切に心動かされました。
