3. Let’s Read!

When I was a child, I always had a “bowl cut”. That means my bangs were cut straight across my forehead. Then when I was in the 5th grade, I did something bad, and my father made me shave my head. I was very embarrassed at first, but I got used to it. In high school, I started listening to heavy metal music and I let my hair grow out past my shoulders. My mom always complained about it. Then when I started college I had my heavy metal hair-do cut short except for one long braid in the back. At the time, it was in fashion. It was called a “rat-tail”. I cut it off eventually, and then had a normal boy’s hairstyle until I joined the Navy and got a crew cut. Sometimes I think if I didn’t have a job I would grow my hair and beard out like a wild caveman, lol. How about you? Why don’t you try something different?

4. Challenge Time:

1. What kind of hairstyle did I have in college?
2. Why did I shave my head the first
3. Why did I shave my head the second time?

Thank-you, Yaeko san for your translation!

  1. Sorry to bother you by asking simple question.
I am always wondering how to use the word "barely".If i say I barely did something,Does it mean I could do that finally, or not ?
which is correct? or it depends on that case?

  2. Hello. Thank-you for your comment. Yes, you are correct. "Barely" means you did something. However, if you use it with a negative word, it can mean the opposite. For example, if the passing score for a test was 70, and you got a 69, then you can say, "I barely missed it".
