#758美容室での日本語レッスン

皆さん、こんにちは！昨日、美容室に行ってきました。髪を切ってもらっただけでなく、実は日本語のレッスンも受けたんですよ。今日はそのお話をしたいと思います。

I got a haircut yesterday and unintentionally got a Japanese lesson. For a whole hour, I was forced to chat in Japanese only. I was sweating bullets trying to keep the conversation going, and I had to take out my smartphone several times to look up words or phrases. We talked about all kinds of things, from the weather to my plans for the week. Maybe if I got my hair cut more often, my Japanese would improve!

I get a little shy in these situations because I know the other customers in the salon are eager to hear what a foreigner like me has to say. So, if I notice someone is listening, I'll start talking about how I teach at Miami Eikaiwa and that I am looking for students! It's a great way to turn my nervousness into a chance to share my passion for teaching.

(昨日、髪を切ってもらいに行ったら、思いがけず日本語のレッスンになりました。1時間ずっと、日本語だけで話すことを強いられたんです。冷や汗をかきながら会話を続け、単語やフレーズを調べるためにスマホを何度か取り出さなければなりませんでした。天気のことや、一週間の予定など、いろいろな話をしました。もしかしたら、もっと頻繁に髪を切れば、日本語が上達するかもしれませんね！)

(美容室では少し恥ずかしくなります。なぜなら、他の客が私のような外国人が何を話すか聞きたがっているのがわかるからです。だから、誰かが聞いているのに気づいたら、マイアミ英会話で先生をしていることや、生徒を募集していることについて話し始めます。そうすることで、自分の緊張を、教えることへの情熱を共有する機会に変えることができるのです。)
