Black Friday was yesterday, and it is traditionally known as the first day of the American Christmas shopping season. It is a day of many huge sales!

The name, Black Friday, is said to come from the world of finance. Before this day, many stores are often "in the red" (losing money). Because of the huge amount of shopping, many of those stores finally go "in the black" (making a profit). This is a great idiom that everyone should know!
