Today a typhoon is coming. What's the difference between a typhoon and a hurricane? Nothing, really. The name changes according to the region of the world. In the North Atlantic and Northeast Pacific Ocean, it is called a hurricane. In the Northwest Pacific, it is called a typhoon, and in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean, it is called a cyclone.
Many people have heard of Hurricane Katrina, but few people know about another terrible hurricane, Hurricane Ivan. Ivan devastated my hometown in 2004.
