Causative verbs are very useful because they let you talk about making something happen, or causing someone to do an action. The most common ones are "make," "have," and "let."

The basic structure is: Subject + Causative Verb + Person/Thing + Base Verb.

 * We use "make" to show that you force or compel someone to do something. For example: "The teacher made the students study." (先生は生徒に勉強させた。)

 * We use "have" to show that you arrange for someone to do something for you. This is often used for services. For example: "I had my hair cut yesterday." (昨日、髪を切ってもらった。)

 * We use "let" to show that you allow someone to do something. For example: "My mom let me go to the party." (母は私をパーティーに行かせてくれた。)
