皆さん、こんにちは！今日は、私が日本に来てとても驚いたことの一つ、昔の計算機「そろばん（Abacus）」についてお話ししたいと思います。

I learned about the Abacus (そろばん) when I was in elementary school—maybe in the first or second grade. I was taught that it was one of the world's first calculators, used thousands of years ago in China. So, you can imagine my surprise when I came to Japan and found that the Abacus is still used in many offices!

My image of Japan was always a place with the newest technology, like fast trains and advanced robots, so I couldn't believe that this very ancient tool was still being used for daily calculations. This contrast is a great reminder that Japan successfully mixes its deep tradition with its modern future.
