Today is Respect for the Aged Day here in Japan. It is a national holiday to honor and celebrate the long lives of elderly citizens. As your teacher, I feel very lucky to work with all of you. Some of my students are well into their eighties, and I am truly moved by your energy and devotion to learning. You are my students, but I look up to you and appreciate all the wisdom and experience you share with me in the classroom. I want to continue to support you all in your learning journey. This day is a great reminder to celebrate and cherish the older generation.
