Prepositions like "at," "on," and "in" are small words, but they are very important in English! They can be a bit confusing, so let's break it down.
Think of "at" as a specific point. We use it for a specific time (at 3:00 PM) or a specific location (at the corner of the street). It's like a single dot on a map. We use "on" for a surface or a line. We use it for days of the week (on Tuesday) or dates (on September 19th). You can think of it as something placed on a flat surface. Finally, we use "in" for larger spaces or containers. We use it for months (in September), seasons (in the summer), and cities or countries (in Japan). This is like being inside a big box.
There is also a very important use of "in" when talking about time. When we say "in five minutes," it means five minutes from now. It's a way of talking about a future point in time. For example, "The train will arrive in five minutes" means the train will arrive five minutes from now.
特定の時間(at 3:00 PM)や特定の場所(at the corner of the street)に使います。 月の名前(in September)、季節(in the summer)、都市や国(in Japan)に使います。
例えば、「The train will arrive in five minutes」は、電車が今から5分後に到着するという意味です。)
Studying prepositions can be difficult, but learning them correctly will help you communicate much more clearly in the long run!

Here's a little story to help you learn prepositions.
I went to a small cafe on a side street in Yokohama. I arrived at 10:00 AM. I sat at a table and ordered a cup of coffee. I looked at my phone and saw I had a message from my student. It was about our lesson scheduled for Tuesday, September 16th. We decided to meet on another day. The cafe was full of happy people. I really enjoyed my time in the cafe.
